"Christ believed is salvation received and heaven gained."

Read this sentence of Sunday's "Our Daily Bread" edition. It's a nice quote but not without a powerful meaning behind it.

Many people, probably some of them I know, believes that they will book a place in heaven just by performing good deeds, being vegetarian, etc. Unfortunately, this is not at all true. Humans, are borned sinful. This is because of what Adam and Eve did long long time ago. And according to the Bible, the consequence of sin, is death. Even if our whole life we have not commit sin, we are still condemned because we are naturally sinful. No matter how many things we think we can do to go to heaven, we will fail if we only depend on ourselves. The passage to heaven can never be bought by our deeds, it is given by God due to His mercies on us.

Jesus once said, "There is no other way leading to my Father (God, heaven) except through me." By dying at the Cross, Jesus Christ cleansed us of all sins, thus making our passage to heaven possible. He was an innocent man, why did He have to do this? It's because He loves us, everyone of us. Whether it is people 2000 years ago, present or at the future, He died for us all. He gave us the ultimate present, the passage to heaven, to eternal life. How to accept this gift? We just have to believe in Him. Admit that we are sinful creatures, and we need God in our lives to help us live life. Once we believe that Jesus is our saviour. We are saved. It is that easy. But God always seeks for sincere heart, and He loves us very much.

So "Christ believed is salvation received and heaven gained" simply means that if we believe in Jesus Christ that He died for our sins, we shall receive from Him the gift of salvation, and we can gain passage to heaven. It's that easy! And trust me, it will be your best decision you will ever make in your life. God will bless you in everything you do and He will take care of the rest. Just believe in Him!
